Obed was born in Koumra, Chad to a pastor's family.  He grew up in church and was surrounded by Baptist Mid-Missions missionaries that were working at the many local  Baptist churches in Koumra as well as the medical centre. In 2018, they formed a non-profit organization in Koumra to take in both orphaned babies and street kids, giving them a home and an education. The organization is currently run in Chad by Obed’s family and hired workers while the Berasngars raise support enabling them to serve full-time in Chad and to expand the ministry. They have constantly found that as they put God first and seek to follow him, he provides for their needs and for the needs of the children he sends to them for care
